Hi. I saw your recipes on vegweb.com. I can't post my questions there, but wanted to ask a vegan questions about becoming a vegan and so I followed the link to your blog.

I bought some veggie ground round, but am not sure of that is considered vegan or not, and then with the spagetti sauce I made, not sure if IT is vegan. Heck I am not even sure what being a vegan IS! So I surely need help figuring out what and how to do it!

I looked over the recipes you have listed and they do look wonderful, but I don't have a garden or space for one being in an apartment (here in Canada) to get the fresh things you have listed.

I am much older than you (47) so this is NOT a hitting on you thing. I am noobishtovegan on that other website. I just want to get to know the vegan lifestyle, do's and don'ts, and whether I am doing things right as I bit by bit transition from being the hardcore meat eater than I have been in the past.

My life is in a state of flux as I change spiritually, mentally, and well, attitude about "life" wise. Dietary problems are forcing me into it so it is not an easy choice for me but more of a forced upon me thing. So I figure I can change food wise too and get healthier too!

So this is pretty much a Q and A thing, as I don't actually know anyone here who is vegan. So if you are willing to answer my silly questions about food (and maybe about New Zealand, I hear it is amazingly beautiful there) I would be very grateful for your assistance is helping me live a better life! I have already found one of your country's treasures in the voice of Hayley Westenra, (she has been graced with such a beautiful singing voice) so I KNOW there are interesting things to be found there!

Thanks!

O how I looove growing veggies, it feels so good!! It must be verrry exciting for you. I'm assuming, from what you said, that this is your first time growing things. Good for you! I bet you have a longer growing season up north than I do down south. ^_^ Enjoy it.

If you ever have a chance, try growing 'corn salad', in the winter months. It's a very tasty, light winter green. Mmm.

Anyway my messagin capabilities on vegweb have been screwing up on my network (corporate firewalls be damned!) so feel free to give me a shout on my email, or message me with yours. I had a nice little reply all typed up only to have it not send. Drats. Anyway, catch you later

Oh, I love holiday breakfasts!!! I know exactly what you're talking about!! Sometimes, to make myself feel I'm on holiday..I'll do that on a Saturday or Sunday morning. I'll skip yoga, sleep in until whenever...make a big breakfast/lunch/brunch thing..stay in pajamas all day. It's so luxurious!

I, too, am not a fan of the fake meat - If I wanted a meat-like product, I'd eat meat.. The whole idea of it seems gross, so why would I want something to mimic something I find gross.. I understand some vegans want to eat meat yet refrain due to ethical reasons, but I find it all disgusting...ick! I always hated cow's milk, even growing up the smell made me sick. So it took a while for me to get used to hemp or almond milk without the gross cow's milk association - I'm a mental eater, what can I say?! :)

I also have very little money and crazy ideas, however I am lacking the beautiful tattoos. As for hitting the "real world" I'm avoiding that for another year.

Also, Hi! I found you!
